Goldust’s WWE contract expired, could be Cody’s mystery opponent
Goldust could be headed to AEW (All Elite Wrestling) as it was recently reported that he will soon be a free agent.
According to a report published by Pro Wrestling Sheet, Goldust’s WWE contract recently expired. He’s currently waiting for the 90-day no-compete portion of his deal to run out before becoming a free agent.
It should be also noted that he has removed all mentions of WWE from social media. It was added that although there’s no word yet on when his deal expired exactly, the belief is that he’ll be a free agent in May.
Moving along, during the latest episode of Road to Double or Nothing that is produced by AEW, Cody teased something interesting. It appears that they might be hinting at Goldust to be Cody’s opponent at the AEW Double or Nothing show.
In the episode, Cody is seen talking to his seamstress, who randomly asks if she should stay away from Gold. In the past, Rhodes mentioned how it’s “personal” between him and his opponent. You can watch the full episode here:
The AEW Double or Nothing event is scheduled to go down on May 25th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and will mark the first official event under the AEW banner.
Goldust responds to report
I am still under contract with the @wwe , and everything that is being said online is just talk, and complete bullshit. This is exactly why I hate smart marks!
